Project Details

Last year, City College Plymouth set to expand and re-develop its existing campus to provide a new learning facility dedicated to teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The £13 million project was awarded to Kier Group and AF Protection have been heavily involved with the passive fire protection works throughout the project. After completing the intumescent paint to a number of structural steels, operatives began completing fire stopping and penetration sealing and acoustic seals to all of the internal partitions. Shortly afterwards, Kier instructed a number of cavity barriers to be installed to edge of floor slabs to provide between floor separation. The project is currently in the final months of construction with commissioning to be completed in late July.
